1) 13 December 1957 - The grand caption reads: "Wigginton's walnut tree stands tall and spread wide to the sky all unknowing of the fate man has in store"

2) April 1989 - Feeding the ducks on the village pond in Wigginton

3) 1962 - Wigginton Carnival on Midgley's Fields (now Windsor Drive) in 1962.

4) 27 March 1982 - The Black Horse pub in Wigginton, which was now serving evening meals three nights a week. The new dining room is to the left.

8) 30 June 1995 - The Jacobean Lodge pub / hotel in Wigginton

9) 8 July 1976 - Ducks in Wigginton Pond, which had dried up in the hot summer of 1976. Villagers put out buckets of water for them.

10) 16 August 1976 - Wigginton Parish Council chairman Geoffrey Pearson helps clean out Wigginton Pond, which had dried out during the hot summer of 1976. The receding water had revealed litter and rubbish, so volunteers took the chance to clear it out.

12) 8 August 1983 - Evan Jones, donor of the Wigginton Superstars Trophy shows the cup to some competitors from the event, held at Wigginton Playing Field. Events included sheaf-tossing, 100m-race, cycle obstacle course, dribble-and-shoot football, arm wrestling, darts, and a yard-of-ale drinking contest. Organisers hoped to raise enough to place a seat round the tree in the village green.

13) 12 July 1986 - Young members of Wigginton and Knavesmire athletics clubs try out the Wigginton club's new track

15) 14 March 1968 - The proposed site of 4 shops in Wigginton, which was causing friction. A detached Victorian house in Front Street on Wigginton's main road was the centre of controversy. The parish council protested that it was not the planning authority so the sign was misleading. One housewife who would not be named said: "I am in favour of shops anywhere. It looks at the moment as though we shall have to walk to haxby or York to shop soon."

17) 20 July 1989 - Senior aircraftman John Kerr rises to the occasion at Wigginton Church, to replace the bell clappers, watched by a crowd of more than 100 people
