Hospital’s cancer support is praised

A SUPPORT centre at York Hospital for people with cancer has been recognised by a national charity for the quality of its services.

The Cancer Care Centre at Wigginton Road has been awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM).

Audrey Bradford, Macmillan Cancer Support general manager for northern England, said: “This award reflects the hard work and dedication of the team that designed the centre and all the staff and volunteers who work to make it a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and their families.”

This is hugely well deservred. My partner is currently receiving treatment in the centre. The staff and level of service are first class.
