PATIENTS who are experiencing problems and side effects with their hip joint replacements have the chance to talk to medical experts about their difficulties at a York workshop on Saturday.
Altogether Hip, a York-based patient group, has teamed up with biomedical engineer Tom Joyce and orthopaedic surgeon Dave Langton, both of the University of Newcastle, for the event at the Ron Cooke Hub at the University of York.
Called “A mile in my shoes”, organisers say it is the first of its kind in the world to concentrate on difficulties patients are experiencing with a type of hip replacement known as metal-on-metal.
The event will take place at 10.30am.
