TO mark National Back Care Week, Active Care Chiropractic has offered free downloadable information on how to improve your posture.
It is estimated that four out of five of adults will experience back pain at some stage in their life and this contributes to the increasing burden on the UK economy. From costs to manage and treat, through to days lost at work – which amount to 31 million working days.
In Yorkshire and the Humber sickness absence rates are higher than average for Great Britain and nationally back and neck problems are the most common reason for days lost than any other cause.
Dr Phil Baines, principal chiropractor at Active Care Chiropractic in Fulford Road in York, commented: “Back and neck pain are one of the key reasons that people contact the clinic. It can be quite distressing to have acute pain and/or reduced mobility. The growth of use of computers, tablets and mobile phones are contributing to poor posture and resulting in pains in the lower, mid and upper back and around the neck.”
Visit activecarechiro.co.uk for information on how to think a bit more about posture during day-to-day activities and help to avoid aches and pains.
