AN eye expert from York is warning budding would-be skiers and snowboarders to be eye-aware when they head to the slopes in the coming weeks.
Skiers need to consider protecting their eyes from the sun and its effects when combined with dazzling snow.
Not having the right UV protection is not only bad for the cornea and retina but can also cause early cataracts to form, said Trevor Rowley, owner of Viewpoint opticians in Feasegate.
He is urging people to steer clear of the potentially problematic combination of sun and snow by protecting their eyes properly.
