Music, beer, mud and fun at Leeds and Galtres festivals
8:36am Monday 27th August 2012 in Features
FESTIVAL goers enjoyed music, beer, mud, rain and even some rare sunshine at the Leeds and Galtres festivals at the weekend.
At Leeds Festival in Bramham, music fans were treated to headline acts including Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Kasabian, The Cure and Florence and the Machine and hundreds of others playing across six different stages.
Meanwhile, at Galtres Festival in Crayke, The Buzzcocks, Ocean Colour Scene’s Simon & Oscar, Guillemots, Ash, Adam Ant, Seth Lakeman and Billy Bragg made for an impressive line-up.
As well as the music there were 100 fine Yorkshire beers and ciders to choose from.
James Houston, Galtres Festival director, said: “It has been brilliant, without doubt the best festival we have done. There’s a fantastic vibe, people are happy and chilled out. The only complaint we have had is there are so many things on people want to be everywhere at the same time.
“I’d like to thank the local area for being so supportive of us.”

People might have been put off by the weather and mud that hit last year, but this year was much better organised. Plastic mesh to prevent mud churning up, more things under cover - it was great.
