Lulu loved York so much she is coming back for more – and this time she's bringing champagne and cakes. MAXINE GORDON has the story.
FANS crowded into York department store Fenwick last summer when singer Lulu made a guest appearance.
She had come to York to promote her anti-ageing skin and hair product range.
It was such a success, she vowed to come back.
True to her word, the diminutive star – fresh from her appearance in Strictly Come Dancing – will be returning to Fenwick, but this time for an “afternoon tea” event on Thursday, February 16.
The 63-year-old Scot will be accompanied by Kevin Moss, the creative director for John Frieda and Lulu's personal hairdresser.
The fun will start at 5pm with a glass of bubbly, before guests are shown to their tables where they can enjoy a traditional afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, cakes and either tea or coffee. Vegetarian and gluten-free diets can be catered for.
Lulu will then share her beauty secrets, talking about how and why she developed her Time Bomb and Operation Glam ranges, and take questions from the audience.
Lulu and Kevin will also move around the tables to speak to ladies individually and discuss their skin and hair care needs. Beauty therapists will be available throughout to do hand massages.
The event should finish at 7pm and guests will leave with a “goody bag” containing a selection of skin care and hair care items and the latest edition of Prima magazine.
Tickets for the event are £40 each and available by phoning 0207 3123 905.
