MEMBERS of The Press Camera Club have been reflecting on what makes a good photograph over the last few days. And, as you'll see from the results on these pages, they have come up with some pretty good answers.

All but one of the photographs here are entries in our May #reflections competition. That exception is Simon Barrett's Whitby Pyramid, which we wanted to include just because it is such a delightful, quirky and wonderfully precarious composition.

As to the #reflections entries ... well, it's great to see the theme being interpreted so broadly. Plenty of views of landscapes reflected in still waters have been submitted - Mark Bulmer's exquisite view of Buttermere is a fine example. But there has been some out-of-the-box thinking, too - such as Jonathan Allison's selfie in the petrol tank of a Harley-Davidson, or Elizabeth O'Sullivan's arresting view of Tour de France cyclists appearing to ride through the window of a Beverley shop.

We enjoyed Chris Robinson's cheeky tease, too: and we loved the spin Jorji Jackson put on her frog hiding beneath a leaf. Reflections of a prince unkissed, she called it.

Classic. Keep them coming...
