MAXINE GORDON checks out the new knits on the block for autumn
OCTOBER is coming, ushering in the very best of autumn.
Falling leaves and cooler temperatures are just what you need to put you in the mood for a cosy knit.
It's too cold for summer clothes, but not chilly enough to resurrect the winter wardrobe. Cue the wonder of woollies.
The humble jumper comes in as many guises as names. Sweater, pullover, knit, woolly – they all cover a multitude of styles.
Whether you choose a crew neck, slash neck, roll neck or cowl neck, just make sure you go large.
The oversized, slightly sloppy jumper is the look to go for. It is a comfy and relaxed style that works perfectly with jeans, jeggings and leggings.
But have you thought of wearing an oversized jumper with a skirt? This is the way to go if you want to keep up with the fashion pack.
For a more streamlined silhouette, try a giant knit with a pencil skirt. For something more fluid and funky, team with a fuller, or pleated skirt.
