COLOURFUL couture by talented York fashion student Rachel Gordon is literally in Vogue.
The 23-year-old from Copmanthorpe had her final-year collection photographed for the fashion bible's website.
She presented a six-piece capsule collection on the catwalk at Graduate Fashion Week in London.
Rachel, a former student at York College, has been studying fashion at the University of East London. Her final-year work was selected for the prestigious fashion week, where many of the stars of tomorrow are spotted.
Rachel said: "The show was packed and there was a lot of blogging and pictures on Instagram and even people illustrating my work. I got some really good feedback. It's really good as it gets your name our there so that people know who you are."
She describes her eye-catching designs as childlike. "It's about never growing up; about being young, fun, and girly." The collection features oversized dungarees and shirts, skirts and tops in a variety of colours, with models wearing large bows in their hair.
During her four-year course, she took work placements at top brands, including Diesel.
And the future? She is looking for a job in print design or as an assistant designer. She said: "Eventually, I'd like to be a head designer for a high street fashion brand, where lots of people get to wear my clothes."
