Campaign to focus on litter picking

CITY of York Council’s Love Where You Live campaign will be holding six community litter picks and awareness events over the next three weeks.
York College and Westfield Primary School in Acomb will take part in the first two events on April 20 to educate young people about the effects of litter on the local area.
On April 21 volunteers from York College, local community groups and Tesco employees will be litter picking around the Tadcaster Road area.
On April 26 and May 4 rubbish will be cleared at Chapmans Pond, off Moor Lane, Dringhouses, where anyone is welcome to join in from 10am.
There will also be a litter pick at Acomb Wood Meadow on May 4, behind Tesco Express, starting at 11.30am.
