Clifton Backies local nature reserve gets a spruce-up by the BTCV

VOLUNTEER officer Will Hinchliffe has thanked the people who helped him create woodland glades and cleared up wild flower meadows at the Clifton Backies local nature reserve in a project he led for the conservation charity BTCV. Mr Hinchliffe said: “We have had a great couple of weeks at Clifton Backies, we even got some sunshine this week.

“We will now look forward to seeing how the work we have done benefits the area, hopefully with new plant and animal species appearing on the reserve.

“Anyone who feels they would be interested in working on projects similar to this can get out and do some volunteering with BTCV. Just contact our York field office.” The project was funded with a grant from the York Community Pride Fund.
