Himalayan topic for Pickering Horticultural Society

The speaker at the February meeting of the Hardy Plant Group of the Pickering Horticultural Society was Peter Hartrey.

Mr Hartrey showed slides illustrating the mountain flowers of Tibet and Nepal. They included rare species of primulas, meconopsis and rhododendrons all shown against the spectacular background of the Himalayas.

The next meeting of the group will be on Thursday, March 18, in Pickering Memorial Hall, starting at 7.30pm. Nurseryman Bob Brown, of Cotswold Garden Flowers, will give advice about good plants for difficult places.
