Day 6: June 19 - Telford to Bolton (80 miles)

This should be a relatively easy day, fairly flat countryside. So we start the day with full Monty English breakfast at nearby transport cafe. One of the guys asked for muesli and got kicked out.

Stopped at the Mercury hotel that evening at West Halton, just outside Bolton. The owners are fantastic people and they made a generous donation to the charity.

It was cabaret night and we all stayed up for half of the first song before everyone gradually retired to bed.

I was in Room 2 which was next to the cabaret bar so was singing golden oldies in bed until 1 in the morning.

On the way to Bolton passed Alderley Edge just outside Chester, footballers’ paradise. Saw some amazing houses!
