Friends in charity run to Scarborough

A PAIR of friends from North Yorkshire have successfully run from York to Scarborough to raise money for cancer charities.
John Hall, 34, of York, and Christian Machen, 33, of Scarborough, set off from York and stopped overnight in Malton to rest and refuel, before completing their challenge. John said: “We made it back safe and sound.
“There were a few trials and tribulations on the way, including a few map-reading errors that added a few miles, but we finished at Scarborough Rugby club, after a total of 10 hours running.”
John and Christian thanked everyone who helped them raise more than £1,000, which will go towards York Against Cancer and St Catherine’s Hospice in Scarborough.
