RAF colleagues to compete in Great North Run dressed as Biggles
8:42am Monday 6th August 2012 in Fundraising fun
The RAFA Misfits Team made up of Sqn Ldr Phil Crebbin, Flt Lt Rich Gray, Sgt Ross Tilly and Sgt Mick Welsh
A NORTH Yorkshire airman will dig out his flying helmet and handlebar moustache when he joins his RAF colleagues in the Great North Run dressed as Biggles.
Phil Crebbin, of Harrogate, and his team are hoping to raise more than £3,000 for the RAF Association, which supports past and present members of the RAF and their families in their hour of need.
Having toured Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan as a communications engineering officer, Phil is currently providing information systems technical-security for the RAF.
He said: “I have been a member of the RAF Association for over 20 years and am regularly impressed by the great and valuable work done by the organisation. I am looking forward to the event, as I have never run in a race with more than a few hundred participants. It will be a memorable and immensely atmospheric occasion. I am also using it as a focal point in my efforts to get fitter.”
