Skydiver aims to raise £1k for Mind

A WOMAN planning a solo sky dive from 10,000 feet later this month says she has managed to raise more than £400 so far for York Mind – but still hopes to make £1,000.

Laura Woodhead, 32, of Birch Park, Huntington, who works as concession manager for Hammonds Furniture at Monks Cross, says she wants to help the mental health charity because it gave her back her life.

As The Press reported previously, she spent most of her twenties ‘imprisoned’ in depression until Mind helped her tackle the condition, and now she wants to raise funds for it and raise awareness of its work. She urged anyone able to help to go to justgiving.com/jumplaura
