Will Aid appeal to support charity

SOLICITORS around North Yorkshire have been urged to take part in a national campaign to give back to their communities.

Will Aid enables local people to get the protection of a proper will in return for a voluntary donation to the charity, which helps people around the world access basic health care and clean water.

Every November, participating solicitors write basic wills for their Will Aid clients without charging their usual fee, with customers making minimum donations of £90 for a single basic will, £135 for a pair of mirror wills and £40 for a codicil instead.

Last year’s campaign encouraged about 27,000 people to make a proper will and raised £2.2 million for the Will Aid charities, beating the previous best of £1.5m.

Solicitors who want to help their local community and charity at the same time can find out more and sign up online at willaid.org.uk or they can phone 01460 271178 or email enquiries@willaid.org.uk
