Hotel staff to join national bike marathon

TWO members of staff at the Park Inn By Radisson in York are aiming to take part in a marathon bike ride to raise money for York Mind.

On Wednesday, Simon Russell, the hotel’s financial controller, and accounts assistant Katie Dalton, aim to ride to the Radisson Blu Hotel in Leeds, and then on to the Park Inn in Manchester.

Their efforts will form two legs of a nationwide sponsored cycle being undertaken by staff from all 29 Rezidor-owned hotels across the UK mainland.

Adrian Pickard, the hotel’s general manager, said: “We wish everyone well around the country taking part in the challenge, and are very confident in York that Katie and Simon will do us proud.”

Workers from Park Inn and Radisson Blu hotels up and down the country aim to raise at least £30,000 for the nominated charities. The challenge will cover more than 1,200 miles, starting in Aberdeen, and eventually ending in Southend.
