9:28am Monday 20th February 2012 in Fundraising fun
RESIDENTS in North Yorkshire are being urged to support an appeal which aims to raise £35,000 to buy an emergency support vehicle.
The North Yorkshire Fire and Emergency Support Services drive, run by the region’s Red Cross branch, is wanting to buy a vehicle which can provide help to victims in a variety of emergencies, including fires and floods.
Staff who man the vehicle will provide practical and emotional support to those affected by traumas and give them a point of contact to help them deal with the effects of the incident.
The fundraising will be taking place over the next two years, and packs and further information are available at redcross.org.uk/yorkshirevehicleappeal, by phoning Rachel Olney on 0114 242 7381 or emailing rolney@redcross.org.uk
