7:59am Monday 20th February 2012 in Fundraising fun
TWO York businesses have teamed up to give a new twist to a familiar party theme.
The Lord Mayor of York, Coun David Horton, is holding a wine and cheese party at the Mansion House on Friday to raise money for his charities, York Mind and York Against Cancer.
Wine merchants Geoff Walker of York will be bringing a wide selection of wines, while Julian Merritt, of Love Cheese, in Gillygate, will give a presentation on some of the cheeses which he sells at the shop.
Said Coun Horton: “Geoff Walker has done a similar fundraising event for us before, and it proved very popular. When he offered to come along again, we asked how we could make the event even better. He suggested complementary cheeses for each wine would be a great idea, and Love Cheese said that they would love to help out.”
To book tickets, at £20 each, contact the Guildhall on 01904 551010.
