TWO York residents have won a place on a national programme which will see them work for a charity of their choice.
Penny Bainbridge and Graeme Dawson were among 500 people from across the UK chosen for placements paid for by the Vodafone Foundation through its World Of Difference programme, which saw more than 5,000 hopeful applicants register.
The placements start next month. Penny will be working for the Clements Hall community centre, helping to organise and run events there, and Graeme will be raising awareness of the National Railway Museum’s work with groups such as disabled people.
