ADVENTUROUS fundraisers are wanted by York Hospital to take part in a skydive challenge to help raise £300,000 this year.
The tandem parachute jump is open to anyone and is free to those who raise more than £400 for the hospital’s STAR campaign to refurbish the stroke unit at Wigginton Road.
Those who sign up will take to the air over the Lake District on March 24 for a 12,000 foot, freefall parachute jump.
Lucy Watson, fundraising manager for the hospital, said: “We are hoping the skydive will get as many people as possible supporting The STAR Appeal in a really fun way.
“Skydives offer an exhilarating challenge and offer people the chance to try something they might not normally do for a great cause. Why not share the fear and jump with a group of friends or work colleagues?
“We would love to hear from anyone looking for a challenge in 2012.”
If you would like more information about skydiving or you would like to book a place, contact Lucy Watson on 01904 721737 or email: lucy.watson@york.nhs.uk
