FAMILY and friends of a sports fanatic are holding a charity golf day to boost the coffers of a foundation set up in his memory.
Clive Gott, who died in February, aged 52, of suspected heart problems, was known for his adventurous challenges, such as climbing Everest, but also for working to inspire young people. Clive, a former columnist for The Press, also enjoyed playing golf and cycling. He was a big Leeds Rhinos fan and made it into the Guinness Book Of World Records playing darts in the 1980s.
After his death, Clive’s partner, Elaine Hanzak, set up The Clive Gott Foundation to sponsor young sports players with equipment and coaching.
