STUDENTS at the University of York are gearing up for a huge charity event celebrating fashion and the arts.
Fusion 2011, which combines dancing, modelling and entertainment, is a student-run production which aims to raise up to £20,000 for six charities, which this year will be York University Students’ Union Volunteering, Macmillan Cancer Support, Shelter and Minds for Health, as well as local charities Survive and Candlelighters.
The theme of Fusion 2011 is playing games, and the cast will explore games spanning from the childhood toy box to the casino.
Costumes will be donated by York retailers stocking Levi’s, TM Lewin, Ark, Mulberry, Lacoste, Vivienne Westwood and many more. Jewellery to be worn by performers will include pieces by York School of Jewellery.
Fusion 2011 will take place in the university’s Central Hall on March 4, 5 and 6, from 7pm. Tickets are available from yusu.org priced £10, or £6.50 for students.
