VETERANS of the RAF are asking York residents to dig deep and help out the airmen and women who have fought in the skies for their country.
Members of the York branch of the Royal Air Force Association hope to raise more than £7,000 towards the Wings Appeal, a national fundraising event which this year coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Collectors will be stationed around York city centre from Saturday, September 18.
