Parvin Restaurant boosts Joseph Rowntree School pupil's fundraising effort

A Joseph Rowntree School pupil raising funds for a summer trip to Kenya has been given a boost by a Haxby restaurant.

The Parvin Restaurant will hold a Kenya Night on Monday, March 29, for Ruth Evans, and half of the proceeds will go towards her fundraising target of £3,370.

Ruth, 17, is one of 47 students from Years 11, 12 and 13 taking part in the month-long expedition, during which they will assist with conservation and community projects.

The visit, over July and August, will provide the pupils with an opportunity to develop their leadership and team-building skills. Guests at the Parvin will enjoy a set meal costing £14.95 per person, and there will also be a raffle.

Anyone wishing to attend can call the restaurant on 01904 758864. Details of the trip can be found at www.joro2kenya.org
