Pupils raise money for Chilean earthquake survivors with Latin themed day

RODRIGO Correa, a foreign language assistant at Clifton With Rawcliffe primary school, in York, joins pupils in fancy dress who helped raise money for victims of the Chilean earthquake.

The pupils wanted to do their bit after after the grandparents of Mr Correa were left homeless by the quake.

Despite being found safe and well after an anxious four-day wait, the relatives are now living in a tent after their home in Concepcion was destroyed.

The children’s activities included attending school in traditional Spanish dress, a Beat The Goalie stall, pin the tail on the bull, a piñata stand and a cake and bring and buy stall.
