Staff from Superdrug, in Acomb, York, raise money for the NSPCC

A GROUP of York shopworkers are dressing up to raise money for a leading children’s charity today.

Staff from Superdrug, in Acomb, will be out and about, with their megaphones raising money for the NSPCC, which is their company’s chosen charity for the year.

They will be dressed up as clowns and holding a number of activities, such as children’s face-painting, a Mothers’ Day makeover and nail painting. They hope to raise £150 from the day’s events.

Sophie Agar, 27, the store’s manager, said: “Fundraising is something that we all enjoy doing at this store and because it was for a children’s charity we decided to dress up as clowns.”

Last year the store raised £3,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust and it hopes to raise a similar amount this year for the NSPCC.
