GURKHA soldiers based in York will cook up a taste of Nepal next week to raise cash for charity.
Following the success of their curry night last November, which raised more than £2,000 for the Lord Mayor of York’s charities, the event on Saturday, March 13, is already sold out.
The Gurkhas, who are members of 2 Signal Regiment, which is based at Imphal Barracks, will set up a field kitchen at York’s Guildhall.
All proceeds will go to York Against Cancer and Brunswick Organic Nursery And Craft Workshop – the favourite good causes of this year’s Lord Mayor, Coun John Galvin.
