Pupils and travel centre helping Haiti and having fun

PEOPLE of all ages have been doing their bit to help Haiti.

Pupils at St George’s RC Primary School in York staged a number of events at a Help Haiti Funday.

Organised by the school council, the day included a sponsored Reach For The Stars Danceathon led by York based dancer Fran Garvey, and also turned their classrooms into lunchtime cinemas complete with cups of popcorn.

Meanwhile, staff at the Co-op Travel Centre in Wheelgate, Malton, are helping to raise funds to aid the victims of the Haiti earthquake disaster by selling books for a £1.

They have collected the books to sell at the agency where bucket collections are also being made, said manager Leanne McElroy.
