A HARDWORKING fundraiser has handed over more cash to staff at the special care baby unit at York Hospital.
Nigel Scaife, of Heworth, has been raising money for the department since it successfully nursed his two-year-old niece back to health following a brain haemorrhage.
This week the 37-year-old handed over a £400 cheque. He said: “I raised the money by doing car boot sales. I got the stuff off the Freecycle website and ended up with four sack-fulls of stuff to sell.”
His next fundraising effort will see Mr Scaife walking from York to Scarborough on August 20.
Mr Scaife is pictured at the unit handing over the cheque to Debra Miles and Pam Cobey-Greenstreet.
