A YORK hotel manager has raised £400 for Special Olympic hopefuls.
Neil Hudson, conference manager at the Best Western Monkbar Hotel, completed the Beverly Triathlon in August to support the Special Olympic City of York team on their 2011 World Games campaign.
Mr Hudson trained for months ahead of the challenge which involved a 400m swim, 20km cycle and a 5km run.
Special Olympics Great Britain is part of the world’s largest programme of sports training and athletic competition for people with learning disabilities.
Bowling is the latest sport to be added to the Special Olympics and York’s bowlers have been training at New Earswick Indoor Bowling Club.
