VOLUNTEERS at a hospice shop are hoping football-crazy fans will help them raise funds for patient care.
Among the donations to the St Catherine’s Hospice shop in Malton was a suitcase filled with hundreds of Manchester City programmes from games played over the last 40 years.
Hospice driver Marc Allison, a member of the Malton team, said the programmes would be a great find for Manchester City fans as souvenirs from games as long ago as 1976.
He said: “Our volunteers are hoping that we get a good price for them. Whoever buys them will know the money they give will go to patient care.”
The Malton team is now looking into the best way of raising funds through the donation.
St Catherine’s has two other shops in Ryedale in Pickering and Helmsley, as well as a day hospice at Malton Hospital. All accept donations and new volunteers always welcome.
