ORGANISERS of a scenic 10k race through North Yorkshire's Dalby Forest have handed over a cheque for £1,500 to charity Help for Heroes.
Race organiser Darran Bilton, and sponsors from the Mumbai Lounge restaurant and Up and Running shop in York presented the cheque to the charity's Elisha Armitage, following the Dalby Dash last November.
The forest event took place for the fourth time on Remembrance Sunday - and saw the 500 runners observe a minute's silence ahead of the race.
Over the four years, the race has raised around £10,000 - half of which has gone to Help for Heroes, and half to the Pickering Rotarians who help organise the day.
This year's Dalby Dash will be taking place on Sunday, November 8 and organisers are hoping to see another 500 runners sign up to run through the forest paths. Information and entries are available at www.dalbydash.com.
Organisers have thanked sponsors the Mumbai Lounge and Up and Running, as well as supporters the Forestry Commission.
