A UNIVERSITY of York student is taking part in The City of York Triathlon to raise money for Raleigh International.
Isobel Archer is taking part in the event on April 26 to support the charity which empowers young people to make a difference in some of the world's poorest communities.
She is also due to volunteer in Tanzania for five weeks with Raleigh International, working to help provide access to safe sanitation and improve education.
Isobel said: "I have never done a triathlon before but I'm excited to take on the challenge. I've been running and cycling twice a week but I'm most nervous about the swimming."
This is the second time the City of York Triathlon will take place, and it takes place at The University of York, Heslington East Campus.
