A CURRY made from a four and a half foot long catfish will be among the dishes served at a charity curry evening to raise money for the Lord Mayor of York’s chosen charities.
The event, at the Bengal Brasserie in Poppleton, will raise money for York Against Cancer and York Teaching Hospital Charity.
Dobir Molik, who owns the Bengal Brasserie restaurant in Poppleton, said “We do different events every year for a different charity group.
“We want to help the local community.”
The Lord Mayor, Cllr Ian Gillies, said: “It’s very generous for Mr Molik at the Bengal to support my charities. I’m very appreciative of what they’re doing.”
The price includes a three course meal of curry dishes cooked especially for the charity event.
The event will take place on January 27 from 6.30pm, and will cost £15 per person. Tickets can be booked by calling the Bengal Brasserie on (01904) 788808.
