THE Marie Curie Cancer Care Christmas appeal has raised a record-breaking £31,000 in the last two months.
Supporters ran festive fundraising collection days at supermarkets and shopping centres in North and East Yorkshire, and last year paid for 1,250 hours of home nursing care by raising £25,000.
Kyla de Lehenstein Collins, community fundraiser, said: “It’s a fantastic achievement that we’ve been able to raise so much money this Christmas and our thanks go out to the dedicated supporters who have worked together to help make this happen. It means that we can ensure Marie Curie nurses are able to help people spend their final Christmas with their families surrounded by the people and things they cherish.”
