HEART patients and their families have teamed up with celebrities for an online film to raise awareness of congenital heart surgery in Yorkshire.

Local celebrities and well-known Yorkshire characters are lending their support to a short film promoting the annual fundraising event, Wear Red Day, which takes place on February 6.

The day aims to boost funds money for the Yorkshire Heart Unit at the Leeds General Infirmary.

The unit treats some patients from York and North Yorkshire.

The short film will be unveiled on YouTube on January 5. It will feature the actor Dominic Brunt, who plays Paddy Kirk in Emmerdale, along with a number of star players from the Leeds Rhinos rugby league team, all of whom will be dressed in red to show their support for the day.
