THE mother of a York teenager who died from a massive heart attack is raising money for charity.
David Harry was a 15-year-old Joseph Rowntree School pupil who was found dead in his bed by his mother Tracy in October 2002.
Since then, his family have raised thousands of pounds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) - a charity which carries out research into heart defects - in the hope similar tragedies could be prevented.
Tracy, who lives in New Earswick, will mark what would have been David's 28th birthday on November 22, by taking part in a sponsored head shave, and has already raised more than £300.
She said: "He was a fun loving very cheeky lad, who is missed so much by his family, not a day goes by without us thinking of him, and what kind of man he would be today if he was with us.
"CRY have been a great support to us over the past 12 years, so during CRY awareness week which this year coincides with David's birthday, I would like to give something back to them by doing this, some may say mad thing, but those who know me would expect me to do this kind of thing."
