TWO Wistow schoolgirls have raised £549 for the Friends of Wistow School Association, which raises funds to provide equipment for the village primary school.
Tia-Mae Burden, 13, a former pupil at the school, and her ten-year-old sister Neve, who is currently a pupil at the school, completed the coast to coast walk, a distance of 192-miles, earlier this month.
Walking 16 miles a day from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay and camping overnight en route, they completed the walk in 13 days to raise the sponsorship money.
Wistow School headteacher Sarah Langridge said: "We were absolutely delighted with the effort made by these two children, who independently planned the walk and raised the funds."
