A YOUNG man with a rare condition has taken part in a charity skydive.

Taylor Vasey, 20, from Scarborough, has been blind since he was 17 due to Alstrom Syndrome, and took part in the 10,000 foot parachute jump to support Saint Catherine's Hospice in the town.

The parachute challenge was delayed three times by poor weather, but he eventually managed to take part in the jump with his support worker Sarah Thornton and her friend Emma Wilson.

He said: "The first two seconds were the worst - the scariest moments of my life - but after that it was amazing."

Taylor is still fundraising, and donations can be made at justgiving.com/TAYLORVASEY or by texting FBVV81 followed by the amount to 70070.
