FUNDRAISERS from over 30 Marie Curie groups have met in York to discuss the charity’s plans for the future.
More than 60 volunteers attended the Marie Curie network day at the Marriott last week and attended workshops throughout the day as well as hearing presentations from head of regional fundraising, Mark Winton, and a video message from Marie Curie’s chief executive officer, Dr Jane Collins.
Liz Howlett, Yorkshire fundraising manager, said: “It was fantastic to see so many of our wonderful Marie Curie fundraising groups come together at the network day. Fundraising groups are essential to reaching our fundraising goals and we would like to thank each group for all the brilliant support that they provide”.
The day concluded with a talk from Mike Hughes who has raised over £24,000 for Marie Curie.
