A FULFORD woman is setting out on a “wellie walk” to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Nikki Ainscough, 30, will over the bank holiday weekend walk 70 miles in memory of her grandma Mary Reddy, uncle Nobby Ainscough and a close family friend Ian Lawrence, who have all died after a battle with cancer.
The route reflects her grandma’s love of walking and covers the area between her uncle’s homes in Todmorden and Silverdale, stopping off at as many award-winning tearooms and pubs, much-loved by Ian, as possible.
Sally Millington, fundraising manager for Macmillan said: “This is such a unique walk, and I think it is lovely how Nikki has brought characteristics from each of the people she has loved and lost into the fundraising.”
