A FIRM of solicitors based in York have raised £200 for a local cyclist’s fundraising efforts for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Lupton Fawcett Denison Till presented Mike Hughes with the cheque outside their offices in Stamford House, Piccadilly, on 1 August.
Mike began his fundraising challenge in March with a £19,000 goal, but has successfully raised £23,000, which will fund a Marie Curie nurse to work in York for a year.
He cycled the 118 miles of Stage One of the Tour de France from Leeds to Harrogate a few hours ahead of the professionals on Saturday ,July 5, and completed the 300 kilometre London to Paris cycle challenge last month. He aims to raise £25,000 by the time he finishes fundraising at the end of August.
