VINTAGE tractors commemorated the life of a cancer victim when they paraded from Hawnby over Sutton Bank top through Kilburn, Sutton and Kirby Knowle back to Hawnby.
Twenty-five tractors took part in the procession, which raised £2,410 for Macmillan Cancer Support and was the second annual event organised by Brian Hall, 47, of Hawnby, whose mother Dot died of cancer two months before the event.
“It all happened so quickly,” said Brian.
“We didn’t have time to get in touch with Macmillan, but we wanted to raise money for the charity, to give something back to help people who might be going through something similar. Mum absolutely loved vintage tractors, so we did this in her memory. Thank you to all the lads and lasses who took part and to everyone involved who helped to raise so much.”
