ST LEONARD’S Hospice and Martin House Children’s Hospice have joined forces to bring the Colour Me Happy Fun Run to Rawcliffe Country Park in autumn.

The event, on Sunday, September 21, will see participants run, walk or dance around a 5km route in the park, at the same time as being showered with brightly coloured paint along the way.

A bright white t-shirt to wear is included in the entry fee, and organisers say runners will end the day “as a walking work of art”

Up to 2,000 people are expected to take part in the event, which is supported by BBC Radio York as part of their Good Night’s Sleep Appeal for Martin House.

Corporate sponsors are HARIBO, Barchester, City of York Trading and Park Leisure. Entry costs £20 per adult, £10 for under 16s, and under fives free.

A family ticket costs £50 for two adults and two children.

Places are limited and can be booked online at www.martinhouse.org.uk or www.stleonardshospice.org.uk.
