A LUNCH and raffle at a York retirement housing scheme has raised £552 for York Against Cancer.
The event, which took place on Monday at Barleyfields in Shipton Road, was visited by the Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Ian Gillies and attended by about 60 guests.
Prizes in the raffle included a football signed by York City players and manager, tickets to a York City Knights match and to a cricket match at Headingley.
"We had a lovely day," said spokeswoman Maggie Clark. "People were sitting outside in the sunshine."
