Staff from Yorkshire Building Society enjoyed the ride of a lifetime in a bid to raise £10,000 for charity.
They cycled 124 miles of the second stage of the Grand Départ in aid of their employers' new charity partner Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The Society is an Official Supporter of the Tour de France and the staff ride was to help ‘Hour of Need’ – its new campaign with Marie Curie to raise £500,000 by December 2016.
The riders started in York and pedalled through Knaresborough, Hebden Bridge and the Peak District before finishing in Sheffield.
Mike Wrench, senior software developer, said: “As a keen cyclist, being able to ride the first three stages of the route is a once in a lifetime opportunity and all for a good cause.”
Double Olympic and five-time world champion Ed Clancy MBE, Yorkshire Building Society’s ambassador, said: “What a great achievement for an extremely worthy cause. They should be very proud of themselves.”
It is hoped the riders will raise £10,000 for the Hour of Need campaign.
