TO mark British Armed Forces Day an independent artist has painted a special piece for a silent charity auction.
Sarah Louise Ewing’s painting, entitled ‘At The Going Down of the Sun’, is being auctioned by The Acorn Gallery in Pocklington.
All the funds from the auction will go to the Combat Stress charity which uses art therapy to help veterans cope with their experience and post-combat challenges.
Bids can be made through the gallery’s website or by telephone on 01759 307652 or email to info@theacorngallery.co.uk
The auction will close during Sarah’s visit to the gallery when she will display her latest work on June 28.
Diane Wass, of The Acorn Gallery, said: “We have had a lot of interest already; it’s going very well so far.”
Combat stress is currently celebrating their 95th anniversary and they were formed in the years immediately after the Great War.
